Motorcyclist killed in head-on collision south of Rancho Murieta
A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after colliding with a vehicle head-on in east Sacramento County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around noon just south of Rancho Murieta near the intersections of Ione and Meiss roads, said CHP spokesman Officer Josh Sherwood.
The motorcyclist involved was reported as the lone fatality, he said. The person’s identity will be announced by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. There were no other injuries, the CHP said.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash, but Sherwood said investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol as a contributing factor.
