Man killed, another critically injured after late-night shooting in Upper Land Park, police say
One man was killed and another was left severely injured after a shooting Friday night at an apartment complex in Upper Land Park, Sacramento police said.
In a news release, the Sacramento Police Department said that officers responded to Seavey Circle on reports of a shooting around 11:25 p.m. The roadway runs through the Marina Vista apartments, a public housing project.
Officers arriving at the complex near Broadway found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Officers started to treat the men at the scene and paramedics took them both to a hospital for treatment.
At the hospital, one of the men died, while the other remains in critical condition, according to police.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators continue to look into the shooting. No arrests have been made, and detectives are unsure of a possible motive. A canvass of the neighborhood is planned to gather evidence, they said.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
