Intruder entered Woodland home, ‘inappropriately touched’ sleeping woman, police say

Investigators are looking for a man suspected of breaking into a Woodland home earlier this week and “inappropriately” touching a woman who was sleeping, police officials said.

The suspect was unknown to the victim and police at the time of the break-in, but police say they now have a suspect in the case. Evidence also links the suspect to a similar incident in December, the Woodland Police Department announced on its Facebook page.

This week’s incident was reported to police about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday. Department officials said officers went to the home where the woman was touched by the unknown intruder.

Detectives received several tips, and the investigators later identified Lot Guerra, 36, of Woodland as the suspect in Tuesday’s break-in.

Police officials said the detectives recently linked Guerra to a similar incident in December using physical evidence. The detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Guerra, but police did not know his whereabouts.

Woodland police asked anyone with information about Guerra’s whereabouts or either of these incidents to call the department’s investigations bureau tip line at 530-661-7851.
