Two students assaulted and robbed on Sacramento State campus, university police say
Two students were attacked and one of them robbed early Saturday near on-campus housing at Sacramento State, according to university police.
In a notice sent out to students, the Sacramento State Police Department said that three male students were talking to two women who were passing by in a parking lot outside Hornet Commons Building F about 12:30 a.m.
Three men approached the male students and engaged in a verbal altercation before a fight broke out.
One of the men punched one of the students in the face. Another student was struck by a different man, and his cell phone — which he was using to record the altercation — was taken from him. Afterward, all three assailants fled around Building F.
The first suspect was described by police as a 19-year-old man about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was seen wearing a tracksuit with red coloration and had a light mustache.
The second suspect was described as a 23-year-old man about 6-3 and weighing about 215 or 220 pounds. He was seen wearing a polo shirt and had short black hair and a full beard.
The third suspect was described as a 19-year-old man about 5-9 and weighing about 175 pounds. He had somewhat long hair, less than shoulder length, which was dark and curly.
The Sacramento State Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the assault and robbery to call 916-278-6000.
