Pedestrian killed in Rancho Cordova hit-and-run. Suspect sought by police
Police are seeking the public’s help identifying and locating the suspect in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead Monday night in Rancho Cordova.
A man was fatally struck by a vehicle around 10:15 p.m. near Trinity River Drive and Sunrise Boulevard, the Rancho Cordova Police Department said in a news release.
A 911 caller reported seeing an unresponsive man lying in the roadway, with no vehicle at the scene, according to the news release.
“Officers responded and located an unresponsive, adult male with significant trauma to his body,” police wrote. “Moments later, fire personnel arrived and pronounced the subject deceased at the scene.”
Detectives responded to the scene, but no suspect or suspect vehicle information is available, police said.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
