Sacramento County sheriff’s detectives on Tuesday arrested a suspect who faces murder charges in a shooting at a large Halloween party that killed two men and injured five other people last month.

Hykeem Marquis Davis, 21, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the Oct. 30 shooting that killed Terrence Tiny Long and Daron Turner at the Erotic Exotic Halloween Ball, which hosted at least a few hundred people at the Royal Castle Banquet Hall.

With a warrant for his arrest, sheriff’s detectives found Davis in Fairfield and took him into custody with the help of the Fairfield Police Department, according to a news release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s officials did not release any further details about Davis’ arrest.

Davis was booked shortly about 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Sacramento County Jail, where he was being held without bail. Jail records indicate Davis is scheduled to make his first appearance on Monday in Sacramento Superior Court.

Last week, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint against Davis, charging him with two counts of murder and one count of being a felon in possession of a gun, according to court records.

Long, 32, of Sacramento and Turner, 22, of Antioch were struck by gunfire shortly before 1 a.m. as partygoers scattered for cover at the banquet hall at 5560 Palm Ave., just east of Garfield Avenue. Deputies arrived within a few minutes and saw hundreds of party attendees trying to leave the venue.

The deputies found three men with gunshot wounds. Two were pronounced dead at the scene by medics, and the third was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but in stable condition. Later, deputies were told four others also were shot and taken to hospitals by others at the party before law enforcement arrived at the venue.

The Erotic Exotic Halloween Ball was planned as “a night of costumes, music and fun! Music, dancers, costume contest, food, etc.,” according to a web page promoting the event. The party was organized and promoted by Triple Threat Entertainment & Co.

Event promoters listed feature performances at the party from Sacramento artists Deano, Natho, and Boshy at the Royal Castle Banquet Hall, along with Oakland rapper All Black. An online flyer indicated the event was scheduled from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
