Person stabbed during Rio Linda sandwich shop possible robbery attempt, Sacramento deputies say

Police tape at crime scene

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was looking for a suspect who stabbed someone Thursday morning during a possible robbery attempt at a sandwich shop in Rio Linda.

The stabbing occurred at Tummy’s Sub Shop in the 700 block of M Street. Deputies were first called to the business about 8:30 a.m. for an activated burglary alarm at the sandwich shop, said Sgt. Rodney Grassmann, a sheriff’s spokesman.

The deputies arrived and found the victim with two stab wounds that appeared to be non-life-threatening, Grassmann said. The suspect left the area before deputies arrived. The Sheriff’s Office did not have a description of the suspect to release Thursday afternoon.

Grassmann said it appears the stabbing occurred during a possible attempted robbery at the business. He said it was unclear whether the stabbing victim was an employee at the sandwich shop. There was no further information available about the stabbing.
