CHP alert for missing elderly Northern California man expands to a statewide search

The California Highway Patrol on Friday expanded a Silver Alert statewide in a search for a missing elderly Redding man who is considered at risk and has not been seen for nearly a week.

Joseph Marsiano, 92, was last seen about 10 a.m. Sunday and is believed to be driving a white 1999 Buick LeSabre with the California license plate 4DDU469, according to the Redding Police Department.

The CHP issued the alert for Shasta, Sacramento, Yolo, Tehama, Glenn, Colusa and San Joaquin counties.

On Monday afternoon, the CHP issued a Silver Alert in Shasta, Sacramento, Yolo, Tehama, Glenn, Colusa and San Joaquin counties. The CHP expanded that alert statewide on Friday morning.

The CHP said Marsiano is 5-foot-7, 160 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe Marsiano is wearing a blue windbreaker jacket.

Authorities asked anyone who sees Marsiano to immediately call 911.
