Sacramento police investigating homicide in parking garage near Sutter Medical Center
Sacramento police officers on Wednesday night were investigating after a woman was found dead in a parking garage near Sutter Medical Center.
About 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of K Street regarding a report of a shooting in a parking garage. When officers arrived, they located a female adult who suffered at least one gunshot wound and medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene, according to police officials.
Based on preliminary information, authorities said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the nearby hospital, businesses or community.
Passersby should expect to see a heavy police presence as detectives and crime scene investigators respond to process the scene. There will be some traffic impacts to the area and drivers should plan on using other routes, the Sacramento Police Department announced shortly after 6 p.m. on social media.
