Detectives arrested a second suspect in connection with the armed robbery of a jewelry store last month in south Sacramento in which gunmen got away with a “large amount of merchandise,” sheriff’s officials said.

Kai Greywolf Adana, 22, of Richmond was arrested and charged with the Dec. 3 robbery at the jewelry store in the 6300 block of Florin Road, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday in a news release.

Adana on Friday remained in custody at a Bay Area county jail, where he was being held on several felony charges and arrest warrants from other jurisdictions, sheriff’s officials said. Adana will be transported to Sacramento County Jail at a later date to face charges in the robbery.

Sheriff’s officials said the two suspects walked in with guns and stole a “large amount of merchandise” before leaving in a vehicle. Two weeks after the incident, the Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of James Jonathan Pizzagrani, 36, in connection with the jewelry store robbery. Detectives tracked him to a Pinole motel, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Sheriff’s officials said Pizzagrani was armed with a semi-automatic firearm and “indicia from the crime” at the time of his arrest. Pizzagrani remained in custody Friday with his bail amount set at $1 million.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s filed charges of robbery and vehicle theft against Adana and Pizzagrani. Adana faces an additional charge of being a felon in possession of a gun.
