Lodi man involved in ‘youth sports for decades’ arrested in child abuse investigation
A batting cage operator in Lodi was arrested this week on suspicion of child abuse charges.
The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Richard Mojica, 74, after investigations by the Lodi Police Department.
Mojica was arrested on suspicion of four counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under age 14, the department said.
“Mr. Mojica has been involved with local youth sports for decades. He owns and operates ‘Mojica’s Batting Cages,’ located at 125 E. Elm Street, in Lodi,” the department stated in a Friday social media post.
The Police Department asks any other possible victims or those with additional information to contact Det. Blythe at 209-333-5545.
Mojica is in custody at the Lodi City Jail.
