Officers arrested three people who are suspected of stealing from a Dick’s Sporting Goods store Friday evening in Roseville and then leading police in a chase that ended in a crash a few blocks away.

The incident began about 6:20 p.m., when officers received a report of a shoplifting in progress at the store at Stanford Ranch Road and Fairway Drive. It was unclear what exactly was taken.

The officers arrived just as the three suspects were leaving in a vehicle, said Rob Baquera, a Roseville Police Department spokesman. He said the short vehicle pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed near Highway 65 and Galleria Boulevard.

Baquera said two people ran from the crash scene, while one remained in the vehicle. Officers created a perimeter around the area, then found the other two suspects and took them into custody.

The suspects face charges of organized retail theft, grand theft and criminal conspiracy, Baquera said. Their names were not available Saturday.
