Sacramento police close Franklin Boulevard to investigate shooting that injured man
Officers closed a portion of Franklin Boulevard Wednesday as they investigated a shooting that injured a man in Sacramento’s North City Farms neighborhood.
About 12:50 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department announced on social media that officers closed Franklin between 14th Avenue and Sutterville Road due to a shooting investigation.
The shooting was reported in the 3900 block of Franklin Boulevard, police officials told The Sacramento Bee. Officers arrived at the scene and found the injured man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The shooting victim was taken to a hospital, police said, but information regarding the severity of his injuries was not available.
The Police Department was also investigating two other shootings that occurred Tuesday night.
One occurred about 6 p.m. in the 900 block of Acacia Avenue in the South Hagginwood neighborhood of North Sacramento. One victim was hospitalized with serious injuries and two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting, police said.
Another shooting was reported shortly before midnight in the 2000 block of Del Paso Boulevard in the Old North Sacramento neighborhood with one victim suffering at least one gunshot wound, police said. There’s no indication from police if the three shootings are related.
