Placer detectives arrest Colfax man, recover stolen property from RV burglary spree
Detectives arrested a Placer County man after numerous items, including propane tanks, solar panels and tools, were stolen from RVs in a string of burglaries in the Colfax area, sheriff’s officials said.
Andrew Velez, 31, of Colfax was arrested on suspicion of burglary, grand theft and receiving stolen property, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday in a news release.
Four RVs were burglarized from late January through mid-February. Sheriff’s officials said stolen from the RVs were propane tanks, solar panels, wiring and a control box, clothing, a helmet communication system, a tool set, power drills, snowmobile equipment, skydiving gear, arborist equipment and other items.
On Feb. 22, the detectives served a search warrant at Velez’s home and recovered most of the stolen property, sheriff’s officials said.
