Peeping Tom incident at Land Park bathroom leads to arrest, Sacramento police say
Officers arrested a man suspected of using a cellphone camera to record a woman in a bathroom this week at William Land Regional Park in Sacramento.
Officers responded to a call Tuesday reporting the encounter in the public bathroom in the 1400 block of 13th Avenue in the Land Park neighborhood.
The woman told officers she was in the bathroom when the suspect went in and recorded her with a cellphone, said Officer Chad Lewis, a Sacramento Police Department spokesman. He said the victim confronted the suspect, who left the area in a vehicle.
Officers later identified a suspect, a 27-year-old man, who was arrested the following day on suspicion of violating parole, Lewis said.
On Friday morning, Lewis said detectives were following up on the investigation and would be working with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether “peeping charges” would be filed against the suspect in custody.
The Police Department did not release the name of the man arrested “due to the fact that specific charges to this incident have not yet been filed,” Lewis said.
