Man shot multiple times, killed on Easter in South Natomas, Sacramento police say
A man was shot and killed on Easter at a home in the South Natomas neighborhood, Sacramento police said Monday morning.
Officers responded just after 9:20 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 2300 block of Sandcastle Way, where they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release.
The man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the news release.
No suspect information is available, and homicide detectives continue to investigate a motive for the shooting, the Police Department said.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
The incident marked the second deadly shooting in the area occurring on Easter. Early Sunday morning, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said a man was killed and three other people were injured after a shooting in a south Sacramento parking lot, near the 7200 block of Franklin Boulevard. One of the three injured victims was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
