Man killed, three others injured Sunday in south Sacramento parking lot shooting

A man was killed and three other people were injured in a shooting early Sunday at a south Sacramento parking lot, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a 12:16 a.m. call from the 7200 block of Franklin Boulevard and found two men and a woman lying in a local business’ parking lot with at least one gunshot wound each, per a department media release.

The deputies attempted life-saving measures on one of the men until Sacramento Metro Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the release. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday released the name of Robert Daniel, 33, of Sacramento who was killed in the Franklin Boulevard shooting.

Metro Fire took the two others to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital via private vehicle before first responders arrived, according to the media release.

Crime Scene Investigators and homicide detectives had yet to release suspect information.
