Sacramento police arrest two after loaded guns found; one converted to ‘fully automatic’
Officers arrested two teens Tuesday after a vehicle search in Sacramento led to the discovery of two loaded handguns, including one firearm converted to be a “fully automatic” weapon, police said
Jonnie Isaac Bartholomew, 19, and Kevilo Ortiz Perry, 18, were arrested “on multiple felony gun charges,” the Sacramento Police Department announced Wednesday in social media posts.
Bartholomew and Perry were booked at Sacramento County Jail, and they had been released by Wednesday afternoon.
Officers assigned to the department’s North Problem Oriented Policing stopped the vehicle in the South Natomas neighborhood. Police said one of the people in the vehicle was on probation and could be searched by law enforcement officials.
The officers searched the vehicle and found two loaded Glock handguns; one of the firearms was converted to have “fully automatic capabilities,” police said.
“Our officers remain committed to addressing gun crimes using a comprehensive strategy that includes proactive enforcement in high crime areas,” police said in the social media posts.
