Police investigate shooting death of 19-year-old man found in Yuba City neighborhood
Officers were investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man who was found Tuesday night minutes after gunfire was heard in a Yuba City residential neighborhood.
At 9:35 p.m., several 911 callers reported gunshots heard in the 1100 block of Casita Drive, near April Lane Elementary School and just east of Highway 99.
Officers arrived in the area and found the wounded man, according to a news release from the Yuba City Police Department.
Police said the officers began performing life-saving measures until a medic arrived. The wounded man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.
The gun used in the shooting had not been found, and investigators did not release any suspect description.
