Sacramento firefighters recover dead body found floating in the American River
Firefighters on Wednesday afternoon were recovering the body of a dead person found floating in the American River near 10th Street in Sacramento.
The body was found in the river in Sacramento’s River District, less than a mile east of Interstate 5, the Sacramento Fire Department announced about 4:30 p..m. in a social media post.
Firefighters pronounced the person dead at the scene and were working on recovering the body and turning it over to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The Coroner’s Office will release the person’s name after the family has been notified.
