Placer County deputies arrest Grass Valley man suspected of several groping assaults

Deputies arrested an 18-year-old Grass Valley man suspected of groping women and a girl late last month in Placer County.

Matthew Rodriguez-Reavis was arrested Aug. 29 on suspicion of committing sexual battery and annoying or molesting a minor, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday in social media posts.

On Aug. 27, sheriff’s officials received reports of an unknown male who inappropriately grabbed a female minor and two women. Two days later, deputies responded to a report of an unknown male who groped a woman and ran away.

The deputies arrived in the area and found Rodriguez-Reavis’ vehicle. He was detained and later arrested. The Sheriff’s Office did not indicate where the reported assaults occurred.
