One woman was wounded and another was in police custody after a shooting Thursday at an apartment complex in Rancho Cordova.

The shooting was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of La Loma Drive, just north of Folsom Boulevard.

The woman wounded in the shooting suffered non-life-threatening injuries, said Lt. Rodney Grassmann, a spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Rancho Cordova has a contract with the Sheriff’s Office to provide police services.

Grassmann said another woman, who was identified as a suspect in the shooting, was taken into custody. He said he did not have any further details about what might have led to the shooting.
