A suspect in the September killing of a man at a South Natomas sports bar was arrested in Hawaii on Friday.
Toese Asiata, 34, was arrested Friday in Honolulu and remains in custody awaiting extradition to Sacramento “at a later date,” the Sacramento Police Department said in a social media post.
Around 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 13, officers responded to the 1600 block of West El Camino Avenue after reports of a shooting, according to previous Bee reporting.
The shooting happened inside the Cheers Bar and Grill, located within a small shopping center on the corner of West El Camino and Truxel Road, after “some type of disturbance,” the article states.
One man, Nicholas Snead, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene and another person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
