CHP looking for car that fatally struck woman as she walked across Bradshaw Road

Pedestrian fatality

The California Highway Patrol on Thursday was looking for a car and its driver after the vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian walking across a street late Wednesday near Rancho Cordova.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, the unidentified woman, who appeared to be 35 years old, was walking across the southbound lanes of Bradshaw Road just north of Countryroads Drive when the car hit her, the CHP East Sacramento office announced Thursday in a social media post.

The CHP said the pedestrian was walking across the street outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a gold-colored sedan. After the car hit the woman, the vehicle continued heading south on Bradshaw and left the area. Authorities pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the car that hit the woman was a gold 2003 Mercedes-Benz E320 sedan that sustained right front damage, the CHP said. Investigators asked the public to help find the car, so they can question the driver.

Investigators asked anyone with information relevant to this investigation to call the CHP at 916-464-1450 or send an email to Igregory@chp.ca.gov.
