Driver arrested after late night North Sacramento car sideshow leads to CHP chase

Police tape at crime scene

The California Highway Patrol arrested a driver late Saturday after a car sideshow in North Sacramento ended with a chase.

Sacramento police responded about 11:15 p.m. to reports of a sideshow at Austin Street and Bell Avenue in the Glenwood Meadows neighborhood. Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not yield and led officers on a pursuit, said Officer Krista Koppinger, a Sacramento Police spokeswoman.

Officers eventually turned the chase over to the CHP, and officers took the suspect into custody on “related charges,” Koppinger said.
