A 36-year-old man was arrested after a weekend standoff with police in Rocklin, authorities said.

Officers with the Rocklin Police Department first reported the incident about 9 a.m. Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter, asking residents to stay clear of the 5400 block of South Grove Street due to heavy police presence, according to the social media post.

Roughly four hours later, police said they obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect who allegedly barricaded himself inside his apartment.

Flash explosives, used to stun and distract targets, were used, according to law enforcement.

Police said the man eventually came out and was arrested on charges related to burglary and vandalism.

He was booked into South Placer County Jail about 3 p.m. Saturday, jail records show. He is ineligible for bail.
