Pedestrian struck on Fruitridge Road; Sacramento police looking for motorist who left scene

A hit-and-run collision in the North City Farms neighborhood of Sacramento Thursday sent a pedestrian to the hospital, according to police.

Officers were called to Franklin Boulevard and Fruitridge Road a little after 9 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. They found a man on the road suffering from injuries that were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The car that struck the pedestrian had left the scene, police said.

Police encouraged motorists with information about the collision to call 916-808-5471.
