Folsom police announce arrest after several restaurants are broken into, have tip money stolen

A man accused of breaking into restaurants overnight and stealing employee tip money and other items was arrested Saturday morning, the Folsom Police Department said.

Glass on the doors of a Mas Taco Bar, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, and Leatherby’s Family Creamery were all shattered as part of the incidents, according to a department social media post.

Officers confronted the 21-year-old suspect, who they said is unhoused, at a light rail station and recovered the stolen items, police said.

The post did not say what items were taken and how much money was stolen.

The man was booked at the Sacramento County jail, where he remained Sunday afternoon.
