The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified two women who were killed in a shooting at Arden Arcade apartments last week before their suspected killer shot himself near Arden Fair mall and died.

Laverda Pearl Robinson, 35, and Joresse Jessica Williams, 32, were shot and killed Wednesday in the parking lot of the Eleven Hundred on the 1100 block of Howe Avenue, near Northrop Avenue.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene about 10:40 p.m. after a ShotSpotter activation and a 911 call. Investigators said suspect Ricky Hunter had shot the two women and tracked him to Arden Fair mall on Thursday.

Hunter was inside an AT&T store when deputies saw him. They attempted to arrest Hunter while he was inside his car, but the 32-year-old shot himself, said Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a spokesman with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

He later died at a hospital, Gandhi said.

The coroner also confirmed Hunter’s identity.
