Sacramento police close portion of Northgate Boulevard after man wounded in stabbing

Authorities on Monday morning closed a portion of Northgate Boulevard in Sacramento to investigate an assault after officers found a man wounded in a stabbing.

Authorities closed Northgate Boulevard, between Arden Garden Connector and Del Paso Boulevard, on the American River Parkway.

Officers responded to reports of a man down on the roadway just after 6:40 a.m.. The officers arrived at the scene and found a man who had “significant injuries,” according to the Sacramento Police Department. The wounded man was taken to a hospital.

Officer Cody Tapley, a police spokesman, said the 61-year-old man was wounded in an apparent stabbing and listed in stable condition at a hospital.
