A man was arrested early Monday morning for reckless driving following his participation in a sideshow near in Sacramento’s South Hagginwood neighborhood, police said.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to a vehicle sideshow at approximately 12:51 a.m. near Del Mar Way and Arcade Boulevard, and observed a motorist “actively engaging in reckless driving.”

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver did not immediately pull over and a short pursuit followed, the Police Department said. Department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith said the driver “eventually” pulled over on his own.

Smith said the driver was detained safely and arrested for charges related to the sideshow activity and the pursuit. The vehicle was impounded, police said.
