Roseville police investigating ‘targeted’ explosion inside vehicle. No injuries reported

Police tape at crime scene

The Roseville Police Department is investigating Thursday what appeared to be a targeted attack in which at least one suspect set off an explosion inside an abandoned vehicle, shattering all glass windows.

Officers were called about 6 a.m. to Circuit Drive for a report of a possible vandalism.

Investigators said an “explosive device” had been triggered inside the vehicle. There was no one inside, and no one suffered any injuries, said Roseville Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Ciampa.

“It does appear the vehicle was targeted, but for unknown reasons at this time,” Ciampa said.

The investigation into the explosion was ongoing as of early Thursday afternoon.
