The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified two men in their 20s who died in two separate shootings that police said were connected to sideshows unfolding across the county, amid a spate of five total fatal shootings that gripped the region during the weekend.

Kevin Waterman, 26, died after a shooting broke out about 3 a.m. Sunday on Kelton Way and Main Avenue in the Northpointe section of North Sacramento that also injured another man. The second man was expected to survive his wounds, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

It was the second such incident on the same day. About one hour earlier, officers were called about to the 2400 block of Seamist Drive and Sandcastle Way in South Natomas for another shooting that police said was linked to a sideshow.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim in this shooting as Joshua Brown, 20. Both victims were from Sacramento, the coroner said.

No suspects have been arrested in these shootings. Police urged residents to help solve these homicides by coming forward with any information.
