San Joaquin Superior Court stopped proceedings Wednesday at its courthouse in Stockton after receiving a bomb threat, according to court officials.

Court officials requested the public to refrain from coming to the Stockton location at 180 E. Weber Ave. for Wednesday. A message on its website said the court would reopen Thursday.

“The court has received notice of a threat to the Stockton Courthouse,” court officials wrote on social media about 11:05 a.m. “Please avoid coming to the Stockton Courthouse.”

San Joaquin Superior Court also operates the Juvenile Justice Center and a court facility in Manteca; both locations remain open.
