Sacramento County sheriff investigating hate crime at Hindu temple near Rancho Cordova

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a hate crime reported Wednesday at a Hindu temple near Mather Airport outside of Rancho Cordova.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Amar Gandhi said deputies received an alert about vandalism at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, 10548 Armstrong Ave.

Vandals sprayed the temple with graffiti and cut its water lines, Gandhi said.

The investigation was ongoing.
