Bicyclist dies in West Sacramento collision involving semitruck, police say
A bicyclist died Monday in a West Sacramento collision involving a semitruck, police said.
Officers were called just before 2:30 p.m. for a report of a traffic collision at Industrial and Stone boulevards in the North of Portal Industrial section of the city, according to a West Sacramento Police Department news release.
The bicyclist, a man in his early twenties died at the scene, police said.
The semitruck driver stayed on scene and cooperated in the investigation, police said. Investigators have not disclosed the cause behind the collision, but said the driver “did not display any symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
The investigation is ongoing.
