The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to find about 90 custom motorized bicycles stolen from a business that suffered three break-ins in 10 days, the agency said.

An unidentified North Highlands business ordered 100 Alki-branded e-bikes. Some of the bikes are a red and others are neon green pattern, with both patterns having three-spoke wheels. At least one burglar broke into the business during “overnight hours” and took about 100 two-wheelers, Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a spokesman with the Sheriff’s Office, said Thursday.

These bikes have not been sold anywhere in the United States and in total are worth more than $120,000, Gandhi said.

Twelve e-bikes have been returned, but about 88 bikes have not been found, Gandhi said.

In an update issued Friday, Gandhi said a 32-year-old man was arrested. He was booked Thursday into the Sacramento County Main Jail downtown and faces charges of felony burglary and conspiracy.

The man was being held in lieu of $1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, according to online jail records.

Deputies are still searching for more suspects and bikes, Gandhi said.

Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to call Detective Ryan Drummond at 916-420-9823 or Detective Andy Cater at 916-812-5643. Tipsters, who may remain anonymous, can also call the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Callers may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
