Woman wounded after shooting in North Sacramento neighborhood, police say

Police tape at crime scene

A woman wounded in a North Sacramento shooting Tuesday morning was rushed to a hospital as Sacramento police searched for her assailant.

The shots were fired about 8:15 a.m. near Norwood and Harris avenues before the victim drove to the 4400 block of Silverton Way, in the city’s Glenwood Meadows neighborhood.

Officers were called to find the woman shot at least once, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a police spokesman. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. Gamble said in an update that her wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Few details about the incident, including details on a suspect, were immediately available but Gamble said that another shooting that took place in the area was related.
