A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday in connection with a North Highlands homicide, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

Brian Sholl is being held without bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. Sholl was arrested in the North Highlands area.

Investigators believe Sholl shot 25-year-old Brian Haywood during an argument Wednesday. Deputies responding to reports of gunshots found the victim’s body about 11:30 p.m. outside a home in the 6800 block of Harlequin Way. Haywood had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
