Police share photos of suspects accused of spray-painting swastikas at Sacramento-area school

Large swastikas were found spray painted on the exterior of a Sacramento school on Monday, prompting a police investigation.

The graffiti was discovered at Discovery High School, an alternative school in the Natomas Unified School District on the 3400 block of Fong Ranch Road. The two red swastikas were found atop a building, district officials said in a letter to parents Tuesday, among several buildings that were tagged at Discovery and the next-door Natomas High campus.

“Some of the graffiti had messages of hate, which is completely unacceptable,” the letter to families said. “This behavior will not be tolerated.”

District officials said staff began to remove the symbols immediately after their discovery.

School officials also said Tuesday that they were working with Sacramento police to investigate the incident.

On Wednesday, the Sacramento Police Department requested the public to help identify the suspects captured on surveillance video.

The district encouraged anyone with information about the graffiti to make an anonymous report through the Sandy Hook Promise website’s anonymous reporting system or to call Sacramento police at 916-874-5115.
