The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is looking for suspects who lit a stolen car on fire this week during an incident in which four juveniles drove off in another vehicle but were detained after a pursuit with deputies, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called early Monday morning to the 4300 block of Warehouse Court in North Highlands when an alarm went off and alerted deputies to a burglary, the Sheriff’s Office wrote in an online post. Another 911 caller reported a vehicle had been set on fire and suspects fled the scene.

A deputy found the suspects’ vehicle, and attempted to stop its driver, but a pursuit began. Deputies stopped the vehicle at Marconi Avenue and Lacy Lane, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The occupants bolted from the vehicle on foot but deputies detained the driver and a passenger. Using a drone and K9, deputies apprehended two other passengers.

The four alleged car thieves were booked into Sacramento County Juvenile Hall, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A video from the Sheriff’s Office shows a car’s interior on fire as it weaves through a crowd of people. It’s trunk and side passenger door are open as it drives through the crowd.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for people who were around the car when it caught fire. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 916-874-5115 or the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Callers may be eligible for a $1,000 cash reward and may remain anonymous.
