Yuba City police arrested two suspects and were searching for a third in connection with a series of armed robberies last month in which the culprits pretended to be selling items online.

Four armed robberies were reported from Jan. 20 through Jan. 24. The victims were lured to meeting locations under the pretense of purchasing items listed for sale online, the Yuba City Police Department announced Wednesday in a news release.

Police said the victims arrived at these locations and were confronted by armed suspects who robbed them at gunpoint before leaving the area.

Police investigators, with help from the Yuba-Sutter Regional SWAT team and the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, identified and apprehended two of the three suspects believed to be responsible for the armed robberies.

An 18-year-old man and female minor were taken into custody and face criminal charges, police said. Investigators on Wednesday were still searching for the third suspect.

The Police Department did not release any further details about this robbery investigation.

Investigators asked anyone with additional information relevant to this case to call the Police Department at 530-822-4661.
