Citrus Heights horse acrobatics coach arrested, accused of sexually assaulting minor
A 23-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting an underage victim was arrested on Thursday, according to a news release from the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The victim was training and temporarily living at Nu Balance Vaulting Academy, an equestrian acrobatics club that’s part of CR Circle Ranch on Cook Avenue, when they were allegedly assaulted by a coach.
Detectives from the police department’s General Investigations Unit served a search warrant on Thursday, collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. Code enforcement officers also came out to the ranch and ordered the academy to close after determining it was operating without a business license.
The suspect was booked into Sacramento County Jail on Friday on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor, sexual digital penetration with a minor and contacting a minor with intent to have sex.
Police believe the suspected assault was an isolated incident with no additional victims.
