Officers were investigating a shooting that wounded a man Friday morning near a neighborhood park in downtown Sacramento, police said.

The shooting was reported shortly before 9 a.m. near 15th and C streets in the area of John Muir Children’s Park in the Mansion Flats neighborhood.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man with at least one gunshot wound, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital. Shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday, Gamble said he did not have the status of the man’s condition. The Police Department did not have any suspect description to release.

Investigators asked anyone with information to call the Police Department at 916-808-5471.
