Man killed in North Sacramento shooting identified by Coroner’s Office

Sacramento police are investigating a homicide after a man died from a gunshot wound early Sunday morning in North Sacramento.

Officers responded around 4 a.m. to Mahogany Street and North Avenue and found a man there with a single gunshot wound.

Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Tuesday as Eric James Anthony Walker, 34, of Sacramento.
