1 dead after stabbing on Rio Linda Boulevard, Sacramento police say

A man died after a stabbing early Saturday near Sacramento’s South Hagginwood neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to the reported stabbing in the 2700 block of Rio Linda Boulevard just before 1 a.m., Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Anthony Gamble said.

Police found a victim with at least one stab wound and attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel, Gamble said.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate, police said. No suspect information was available as of Saturday morning. The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after family members are notified.
