An illegal fireworks show was stopped before it began on Friday, the Sacramento Police Department said, leading to two arrests.

The department’s North Problem Oriented Policing Team, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team and patrol officers seized 450 pounds of fireworks from the planned event, police said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The show was planned to take place in a local neighborhood, according to the POP team’s post.

Officers said similar events had taken place in the past, causing “significant damage and safety concerns.”

“This successful operation highlights the power of teamwork between our community and law enforcement to keep everyone safe, especially during July 4th celebrations,” the post read.
