Suspect in North Sacramento stabbing death of 21-year-old turns himself in

A 23-year-old Sacramento man has been arrested in connection with a fatal weekend stabbing in North Sacramento.

Eugene Brooks turned himself in to the Sacramento County Main Jail on Monday evening and was booked on suspicion of murder, the Sacramento Police Department said in an update Tuesday. He remains in custody without bail, according to jail records.

The stabbing in the city’s South Hagginwood neighborhood occurred just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Rio Linda Boulevard. Officers found a 21-year-old man with at least one stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Authorities identified Brooks during the investigation and issued a warrant for his arrest. He is scheduled to appear in Sacramento Superior Court on Thursday.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Dillion Case Lewis Jr. of Sacramento.
