Two suspected of sex trafficking teens arrested after Placer County investigation
Two men remained in Placer County custody on suspicion of trafficking teens for sex, following a nearly yearlong investigation that began with a traffic stop on Interstate 80.
Deputies with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a speeding vehicle on Sept. 30, 2024, near the Douglas Boulevard exit. Inside the car were two girls wearing what officials described as revealing clothing. Both were 15, said Placer County Sheriff’s officials.
Investigators suspected the teens were being shuttled across jurisdictions and engaging in prostitution.
The teens were taken to a Sheriff’s Office substation and later released to their guardians. Investigators continued building a case that ultimately implicated the 24-year-old driver and a second man, 25, both now accused of trafficking the minors.
On Thursday, deputies announced the arrests of both suspects on felony human trafficking charges. Each is being held without bail at the Placer County jail. They are next scheduled to appear in Placer Superior Court on Tuesday.
Jonathan Tregemini Green, 24, entered not guilty pleas at his arraignment June 12 on a Placer County warrant connected to the crimes, court records show. Green faces two counts of human trafficking of a minor. He has a prior felony strike, according to charging documents.
Renardo Dejour Williams, 25, had been in custody since May 19, when Rocklin police arrested him on separate charges, including spousal battery, vandalism, and destroying a wireless device. Williams was also held on suspicion of violating parole and an alleged second strike. He was arraigned May 21, entering not guilty pleas to those allegations, according to Placer Superior Court records.
Williams returned to court May 30 on the two trafficking counts where he entered not guilty pleas ahead of Tuesday’s hearing, court records show.
Placer detectives are continuing their investigation with assistance from the Solano County Probation Department, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, and child protective services.
