Suspect flees after shooting juvenile in Galt. Police say no danger to public

A suspect fled after shooting a juvenile man on Thursday night near the intersection of W. E Street and First Street in Galt. Officers responded to the scene at 9:30 p.m. but the suspect had already fled immediately after the shooting.

A suspect fled after shooting and injuring a boy in Galt on Thursday night, police said.

The Galt Police Department said Friday it believed a shooting was an isolated incident and posed no threat to the public. Officers responded about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of West E and First streets, but the suspect had fled immediately after the shooting, police said. A juvenile was taken to a hospital with wounds not considered life-threatening, according to a department news release. Police did not immediately respond to a question Friday about whether asuspect had been identified, located or detained.
